Beautiful Spring Wedding at The Millhouse

Tuesday, Jul 17th, 2018 | Source: Brosnan Photographic

Anna and Enda were married at the brilliant Millhouse in Slane. The Millhouse is a superb venue for a couple looking to have everything in one location. The entire day took place on site, from getting ready to dancing. It’s no secret that this year has been incredible with the weather and it was no different for Anna and Enda’s wedding day. So having the speeches outside before dinner was ...

Photographing the Leaders

Clockwise: An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar TD, leader of Fine Gael, Micheál Martin TD, leader of Fianna Fáil, the main opposition party, Brendan Howlin, leader of the Labour Party and Mary Lou McDonald TD, leader of Sinn Féin.When I photograph powerful people in business or in politics, I try to show a little of their human side, while respecting their position. These people are time sensitive, so being prepared and ready ...

Monday, Jul 16th, 2018 | Source: Sligo Ireland Wedding Photographer

Aisling & Brendan, Engagement Shoot, Strandhill, Sligo While getting a few relaxed portraits amongst the long grass near Killaspugbrone in Strandhill, Aisling & Brendan were stalked a little by this gorgeous golden retriever who was getting walked…he had no problem jumping in for a couple of pictures! Things like this are great as they can bring out some great reactions, and just help relax things! The retriever didn’t stick around for ...

Grainne & David, Wedding, Ballintober to The Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon Last week seen me travel to Ballintober, not to be confused with Ballintubber where the famous abbey is, for Grainne & David’s lovely, hot, wedding! I hadn’t been to Ballintober since 2012 but remembered it as a lovely little village, with some cool shop fronts. And for the couple’s photographs, we actually just wandered around the fronts & small park & ...

How To Write Wedding Speeches.

Thursday, Jul 12th, 2018 | Source: Liam Kidney's Photography Blog

Wedding Speeches at a wedding  Wedding Speeches are one of the most important parts of a wedding day.  They give a couple and their families a chance to publically thank those that helped them during their life and with the wedding day.  I have seen down through the years some magnificent speeches that were heart warming, emotional and entertaining.   I have also seen some car crash ones where everybody was cringing ...

I recently covered the wedding of Kasia and Stan in Creagh Church in Ballinasloe. I started in the Groom’s home house where we had great fun with the lads and Stan’s father. Everybody was nice and relaxed and that makes a big difference. The bride got ready in the Shearwater Hotel with her mother and bridesmaids. They were ...

Styled By Amber

Wednesday, Jul 11th, 2018 | Source: Brosnan Photographic

It’s no secret that I love working on weddings where the couple have brought in an outside wedding planner or stylist. So when I get asked for the name of a great planner/stylist my list always includes Styled by Amber. I first worked with Amber on a styled shoot a few years ago and since then we’ve worked together on other shoots and weddings. Amber’s style is sweet and elegant ...

ENGAGEMENT SHOOT SLIGO

Wednesday, Jul 11th, 2018 | Source: Sligo Ireland Wedding Photographer

Kelly & Philip, Engagement Shoot, Sligo It’s always great to get an eshoot done before the wedding, it’s included in all my packages anyway, but sometimes especially if you live abroad & are only back a few days before the wedding, it can be hard to squeeze it in with all the last minute bits of preparation that need to be done. But thankfully for Kelly & Philip they squeezed in ...

Rachel & Philip, Engagement Shoot, Sligo Even though I’ve been flat out with weddings since March, bar a weekend or two free in May, there’s always something about July & August that ramps up even more with engagement shoots galore in between wedding weekends. Chapter One: An Irish Food Story – Throwback!

Wednesday, Jul 4th, 2018 | Source: barrymccallphotographer

Is it dinner time yet?! It’s hungry work operating a busy studio! Today has got us dreaming about the year we spent working on this delicious coffee table book, with Ross Lewis and all the team, for Chapter One Restaurant; capturing some of the top dishes across all seasons. It was a lengthy and intricate process, working with a huge amount of large image files. Our Drobo storage system was an invaluable part of the production process, with its high volume storage capacity and ease of access.

Grainne & David, Engagement Shoot, Boyle, Co.Roscommon I met with Grainne & David a couple of weeks ago to go through the details of their wedding this coming weekend, but it was the rare (so good to say that!) evening that was cloudy & a bit drizzly so we left the eshoot until last weekend, […]
