Three graduates of photography have been shortlisted for this year's award - one from each of the BA (Photography) programmes offered by art colleges in Dublin: DIT (Dublin Institute of Technology), GCD (Griffith College Dublin) and IADT (Institute of Art, Design and Technology).  Their work will be exhibited at Inspirational Arts for the month of October. Dublin Camera Exchange, Georges St. Lower, to close

Today's Irish Times reports that Bill Brennan of the Dublin Camera Exchange is planning to retire once he finds a buyer for his property at 63 Lower Great Georges Street. Bill has been operating the Camera Exchange from this premises since 1989.

Noticed the #Camerawoman - It is being reported that a Hungarian TV camerawoman,Petra Lazlo, was fired Tuesday after footage appeared to show her kicking migrants, including children, as they ran from a police line during disturbances at Roszke, southern Hungary. The Irish Examiner today (Thursday 3rd Sept) printed on their front page a hard hitting image of lifeless body of three year old Syrian refuge Aylan Kurdi by Reuters Photographer Nilufer Demir. ‘Life’: A movie about the actor James Dean and the photographer Dennis Stock.

September sees the release of "Life" a movie by photographer turned film maker Anton Corbijn. It explores the relationship between the young actor James Dean and the photographer Dennis Stock.
